1. Open a new file at 450x250 pixels
with the dpi set at 72 and the mode set to RGB.
2. Create a new layer and call it "Text".
3. Select a color and fill the layer.

4. Select the "Channels" palette.(Goto
Window>Channels)

5. Create a new channel and Fill the channel with white.
6. Set the foreground color to black and enter some text.
I used the "Blackletter686 BT" font at 150
pixels. De-select the text.
7. Apply Filter>Blur>Gaussian blur. (I used 2.5
pixels).

8. Using the "Magic Wand" tool set
at a tolerance of 40 to select the white areas of the graphic.

9. Go to Select>Inverse.

10. The Blurred text should now be selected.

11.Select the Layers palette to go back to
the Text layer.

12. Select Filter>Render>Lighting Effects.

13. Apply the settings.Manipulate the light
so that it comes in from the bottom-right.

14. Deselect it and this is the final image.
