How To Create The Perfect Images For Your Blog

Introduction
Learn how to change boring photos into 3D Polaroid pictures. This is a great thing to know if you want to spice up your Blog, or even your website. :)

Step 1.
Open a new document with these settings. You will also need your boring image that you want to spice up. Try and make it about 250x225. If yours is huge, crop out the less important things.

Step 2.
Make a rectangular selection on your blank document about this size.

Step 3.
Make a new layer and call it Main. Fill it with the color #cacaca. Apply these settings.

You should have this.

Step 4.
Now we need to add the actual picture. First let's make a base shape and then we can make a clipping mask. So, make a new layer and call it Photo Clipping Mask. Fill the selection you make with #000000.

Apply these settings.

You should have this.

Step 5.
Now, drag the image onto your black area and create a clipping mask. Do this by Holding Alt and clicking in between the layers. You should have this.

Step 6.
Now we want to rotate it some to give it more defintion. So, Go to Edit >>Free Transform. Rotate it any direction you want. This is how I rotated mine.

Step 7.
Now, With your favorite handwritting font, label the picture. Be sure that you rotate and align it with the angle picture.

Step 8.
Make a selection of the Main Shape and move it over to the right a bit. Make a new layer and name it and Shadow fill it with a dark grey color. Make sure this layer is behind Main.

Go to Filter>> Blur>> Gaussian Blur>> Apply these settings.

You may need to lower the opacity some. You should have this.

Step 9.
It's now time to add the tape. Make a rectangular selection as big you want the tape to be. Make a new layer called Tape. Fill it with #aea07e. Apply these settings.

Now, rotate the tape to your liking. Duplicate it and move it to the other side. This is what I got.

Now, with the polygon selection tool, make a jagged edge that cuts into the tape. Press delete, Do this on all ends of the tape.

You are done with the tutorial. Give yourself a pat on the back. If you have any questions or comments please post them on the forums.
